During the months of March and April, 2003, QuakeSat underwent environmental testing including vibration and shock, thermal vacuum, and anechoic chamber testing.  All of these tests were necessary for validating the QuakeSat flight unit ready for space operation. And all tests showed positive results.

      Below is an image of QuakeSat while it was undergoing testing for vibe and shock on precision controlled shaker table.  For the test, QuakeSat was stowed in the P-POD launcher.

 

      In April 2003, the QuakeSat antenna array was tested in an anechoic chamber.  The picture below shows the QuakeSat mounted on a wooden frame prepared for chamber testing.
