The P-POD (Poly Pico Orbital Deployer) is the standard CubeSat deployment launcher, which gets physically mounted to the spacecraft launch vehicle. Developed by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, the P-Pod uses a burn wire to release the front spring hinged door upon command from ground control. Once open, a pusher plate, backed by a strong compressed spring will push the QuakeSat clear of the launch vehicle, and into its orbit.
